Moreen Ho from Hong Kong-2021admission

2021Moreen 2021admission.pngI can't believe it's been nearly three years since I started studying at Kyoto University. ICP is the university's only undergraduate degree program entirely taught in English. One of the perks of joining ICP is the small lecturer-to-student ratio. Class discussions are very common, and they enhance your learning experience a lot. Thus, I find it easy to talk to my professors. If I encounter any blockers, I can ask my professors directly. I also enjoy discussing assignments and class materials with my classmates after class.

ICP is a well-rounded program that enables students to become excellent civil engineers and researchers. Besides classes related to fundamental concepts, there are also classes for experiments. One of my favourite classes is the debate class because I get to talk to my peers in a different setting. ICP also provides an internship opportunity for students who want to get a taste of working in the industry. In addition, we regularly meet with ICP students, professors, and alumni outside of school. There is a powerful bond within ICP, and as a student representative who helped organise some of the events, I can testify that this is one of the hidden gems of ICP. Students can obtain helpful advice from their professors and seniors through these gatherings.

The programme is not easy, by all means. Still, I am okay with it because I have learnt a lot, not only academically but also about collaboration with other students, time management, and many other things.
