1) Japanese Government Scholarship (MEXT scholarship)
[University Recommendation]
Kyoto University will nominate and recommend to MEXT a few successful applicants who have passed all the admission screening with excellent grades and meet the requirements for this scholarship. Those who get nomination will be contacted individually by the admission office.
[Embassy Recommendation]
In addition to applying through university recommendations, there is another way to apply for the MEXT scholarship called the "Embassy Recommendation." To apply through this method, you must contact the Japanese Embassy in your country well before the application period to obtain the necessary information.
For those interested in enrolling in an English-taught undergraduate program at a university in Japan, like ours, there is a procedure called "Direct Placement" (known as "Chokusetsu-haichi" in Japanese). Applicants must pass both the embassy’s scholarship exam and the entrance exam for the International Course Program.
For detailed information on the application process, please contact the Japanese Embassy in your country.
Please check the link below for further information on MEXT scholarships.
