Sui, Ruoqi from Chengdu, China -April 2012 admission

Sui.jpgIt's been more than half year for me to be in Japan, I would describe my life here "colorful". The life here in Kyoto University is not only about study, instead, it always give me surprises.

This month is fun because it was filled with a bunch of events and activities. Some of our classmates we had a party in the Misasagi dormitory though the food was simple, we had great fun spending that night chatting, playing chess and ping-pong. After studying in the same class for more than a semester, I feel that everyone in this class has become very close friends with each other.

The dormitory in Misasagi is a good place to live for its environment, and also for its people. The university organized a party for the foreign students to get to know each other. It was good, getting to know students from different countries is quite interesting.

The best thing about November is the maple leaves and November Festival. The November Festival was from Nov. 22nd to Nov. 25th. During this time, the campus was filled with people coming to join the event. There were shops, activities indoors, and stage performance. The event is a great chance for students to show what they can do and practice skills that cannot be learned from lectures, and for everyone else to have fun and develop new interests. It was the festival that really made me become aware of how many after class activities we have in this university and that school life is not only about study. There is a life beside the books.
