Elagaty, Mohamed Abdelsalam Hafez from Alexandoria, Egypt -April 2013 admission
It has been exactly 16 days since I came to Kyoto. The reason why I chose this course is that I have always wanted to study in Japan and when I found this course where all the classes are in English, as I am not good at Japanese, I thought that it was an excellent opportunity and I was fortunate to get accepted.
So on the first day I arrived from Egypt to Osaka then took the train to Kyoto and rested for the night. The next day my tutor who is a very nice third year student picked me up and I visited Kyoto University for the first time. Kyoto is a very beautiful city, but when I saw the university I thought: this is the most beautiful place I have seen in Kyoto. So at the first 2 days I finished the paper needed to stay in japan and visited a lot of places with my friends that I met here in Kyoto. On the third day we had the entrance ceremony and a welcoming party in the university for the new students of the ICP. In the party I met the teachers, all of my classmates, and the second and third year students. They were all nice people and there was a very friendly atmosphere. Of course life in Kyoto is different from my home country, but I didn't have any problems at all getting used to it. I really love Kyoto University and I get to befriend a lot of people from many different countries. Also it's not all about studying, you study, do club activities, go out with your friends. So you work hard and enjoy yourself!!
