Through this internship, I gained a deep understanding of construction companies and got more ideas for my future plan.
Cho Huicheol from Korea
Venue: Toyama and Tokyo
Name of Project: NiX Japan Internship
Period: from August 28 to September 8, 2023
Instead of mathematical and technical theories we learn at the university, it was possible to observe the practical demand on the engineering consultants for different fields of studies. I have learned that all the infrastructures we see on a daily basis have been thought out and planned carefully in the past by demand of governments and the city, along with many engineers and consultants.
We got lost in translation sometimes, earlier notice would have helped prepare for a suitable translating application or so. However, I enjoyed the work and hospitality NiX offered. I will never forget this good experience.
Muhammad Ridwan Satria from Indonesia
Venue: Toyama and Tokyo
Name of Project: NiX Japan Internship
Period: from August 28 to September 8, 2023
The internship was a fantastic learning experience, and I had a lot of fun too. I got to learn about civil engineering and consultancy in a practical way. Every day was a new adventure, from understanding urban planning and technology in road maintenance to exploring bridges and environmental conservation. It taught me a lot about engineering, sustainability, and innovation. Overall, it was a great opportunity to learn and grow both professionally and personally, and I really enjoyed it.

Liu Yifeng from China

My internship at Taisei Corporation was an invaluable and enlightening journey that significantly broadened my understanding of the construction industry and general contractor. I have learned many things that I cannot acquire from the school through this on-site work: the daily life of workers, the management of project, the method and equipment used in the project…
This internship has been an steppingstone for my future career, providing me with deeper insight of skills and knowledge for this field and I believe the experiences and lessons learned at Taisei Corporation will undoubtedly guide me a clearer path for my future career in the construction industry.
Sueyoshi, Zacharyah from U.S.A
Venue: Osaka
Name of Project: Kajima Corporation Yodogawa Box Cut Tunnel
Period: from August 24 to September 6, 2023
My impression of my time interning at Kajima Corporation was an extremely positive experience. I really enjoyed the opportunity to immerse myself in an environment which reflected the concepts and exercises I studied in the field of civil engineering. The idea of seeing complex draft plans in the office and then immediately having access to the construction site to observe the box-cut tunnel development was a truly visceral experience. There’s something inexplicably satisfying about seeing a completed smooth concrete slab after experiencing how much effort it took to design, construct and reinforce it.
